The Sea Angling Diary

The Sea Angling Diary

At Taskers Angling we love to get behind new campaigns that are helping to improve the world around us. Thats why when we heard about the Sea Angling Diary Project we just had to bring it to your attention.

The aim of this project is to help improve the sustainable management of marine stocks and to demonstrate the value of sea angling. This project is delivered by substance and the Centre for Environment, Fisheries and Aquaculture Science on behalf of the English and Welsh Governments. In terms of what this project is achieving it has helped to report the activity, catches and economic and social value of recreational sea angling since 2016 which is used to inform better decision making about sea angling’s future. We have over 2,000 sea anglers take part all year.

You can take part by downloading the app. Through this you can record all your fishing sessions including location, tackle, weather and tide. You can record all of your catches including length and numbers, add photos of your catches directly from your phone and you can get a dashboard and annual report of your fishing.

People who have taken part in this project can't recommend it enough. On the Sea Angling Diary website some quotes reads "I got involved in the Diary because I felt that there is very little known about fish behaviour and the science behind angling."  Another one reads "I’ve been looking for some way to give back to the sport we love and using the sea angling diary project is the perfect way. Not only does it give me more of a reason to go out fishing but the data that I put on the site also benefits me and gives a chance to see what tides and what conditions are producing more fish."

We would love to see as many of you get involved in this project as possible. We love backing campaigns that give back to the sport we love and this is one that truly does this!
